May this tiny little buffalo on this old and ragged napkin remind you today to take a moment and appreciate life. One small moment out of a probably too busy day can change your perspective in an instant allowing you to realize how precious all the moments thereafter truly are.

This weekend I saw firsthand how powerful the story of Ohno Buffalo can prove to be for people. Everyone needs encouragement and a little help every now and then. Some days we are this duck or this goat and we just can't make anything work. Then on other days we can be this bison and lift up our friends, or maybe even a stranger, turning sadness into joy. We are all the richer for being kind to one another.

Ohno and another buffalo. A cartoon buffalo and a realistic (as I could make it) attempt. Early on I knew I'd have to master my un-mastery of artistic skills so what you're seeing is Ohno evolution. From one way he began to almost how he ended. It's a wonderful tale and how he came to be is very precious to me. Ohno was always destined to have a very special friendship with one particular little duck. "A Far Off Light" would grow from drawings like this one and from the love I'd found in my own relationship. Life is precious.
